Player Services

At Monash Villarreal FC, we look after the player from a 360-degrees approach, which goes way beyond just football. Anything that can have an impact in their future development is key for us and requires all our attention.
Our player services keep expanding every season, in the following areas:
  • Football (additional programs)
  • Mental Skills
  • Injury Prevention and Injury Management
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Nutrition

Our Approach

We believe player development should be holistic. That means creating an environment where players are supported physically, mentally, tactically, and personally.

Through a combination of coaching, mentoring, education, and performance support, Monash Villarreal FC aims to provide players and families with a clear framework for long-term development.

What We Offer

Football Programs

On top of our regular football program, we offer our players additional training, in the form of skills training, one-on-one sessions and specific training based on the playing position of the player. This includes not only pitch sessions, but also individual video analysis, which we believe is key for player development.
For goalkeepers, our Academy provides extra training to those who wish to add some extra sessions with our elite team of coaches.

Mental Skills

Our partnership with Mental Point and the direct supervision of the area of Sports Psychology of Villarreal CF in Spain bring to our Academy players and coaches the opportunity to learn more and master their capacities to elevate their mental performance.
We are convinced that the mind has an incredible power to boost or hinder the players’ performance. Training the mental skills is as important as mastering the football abilities.

Sports Science

Led by Roger Martinez, our Sports Science team aim to achieve 3 main goals:

Firstly, player availability. To achieve their best performance, a player needs to train and play, which is not possible if the player gets injured. This is why injury prevention is paramount at our Academy, with pre and post training routines, but also Injury Management, for when the player unfortunately sustains an injury, a strict injury protocol comes in play, including individualised rehabilitation and a safe return to play to minimise the risk or re-injury.

The second main goal is to develop the player physically. This links with the individual development plans, where areas of strength and improvement are identified. Also, for the younger age groups, we deliver a Physical Education program to create good habits from the start. Additional physical training is offered to our players, through our Breakthrough Programs.

Finally, our team aims to keep our players as fit as possible for the present day and to enhance their performance. Our football sessions are designed to hit the fitness targets, and our Strength and Conditioning team are in direct contact with the coaches to ensure this. Also, a strength program is in place for our Juniors, to assist them as they walk their path towards Senior football, building their body to transition from boys to men.

Nutrition

Partnered with a licensed Sports Nutritionist, we educate our players and their families in healthy and smart nutritionist routines, adapting the strategies and the message for younger and older players.
On top of this, our players can get access to one-on-one nutrition services.
